Which 1JZGTE engines should i be looking out for? I assume i want possibly a chaser manual half cut or similar?

Does it all bolt up in with the same cross member?

And also, how much did it cost you?

Though i have been toying with the idea of a rebuilt 7M...Hmmm

        7k?

I was thinking more like 4k for a half cut?

yeah 4 for a half cut, and about 3 in ancilliaries you will need to refresh that halfcut right through to putting it in and getting it running.

          timing belt - $100
          serpentine belt - $100
          new oil - $35
          new coolant - $45
          new mounts (urethane) - $250
          new water hoses - $50
          gasket goo - $10
new plugs - $40 for cheapies / $120 for good quality

theres more things you should do as well while its out, but i cant recall what they are at this exact moment..

time/labour? if you're doing it yourself remember $300 for a hoist and $100 for an engine stand..

have yourself 1K in surplus for any nasty surprises you might find also like Blown Head Gaskets... you don't know what a cut might have wrong with it man. Hell mine was alright, compression was fine, put it all in and then found the BHG when the needle started to creep toward the H...

$4k will buy you your halfcut.

As hamafagatan said before, you'll need closer to $7k. Mine cost me $10k, but i also got other mad stuff like single turbo, new tailshaft, coilovers, intercooler, piping, swaybars, aftermarket ecu, wastegate etc etc...

Budget what you think it will cost.

            Then double it.

Then you have a more realistic figure.

Ok, 10k to make my soarer better than a jzz30?

Semi funded by selling my 1g and manual.

Sounds like its time to pay the bank a visit :P

Gotta take some time to learn how to do anything with these soarers lol.

Plus, for now i got a 7M with a new head gasket :P

                      7M + CT26 > 1G with twin snails...

                      For now.

Plus I haven't got $10k to chuck into it :P

If you do go the cheaper option and get an auto, you can always convert it to manual later.
