  • How do you 'lock' serpentine tensioner?

I can't get my tensioner pulley on or off because the power steering pulley is in the way (custom bracket, deleted air con). It's also a bitch to change belts while trying to hold the tensioner with a spanner.

    1.5JZ by the way!

    Cheers!

Custom bracket for the ps for removal of ac.

I run a shorter belt and it has been fine.

The issue is when i went to change the serp pulley and it was hard up against the ps pulley. Usually i'd use a breaker bar on the serp pulley nut to lever it to change belts, but now i actually need to undo that nut to get it off.

A friend of mine (who's into classic cars) said that some tensioners have a lock feature to hold it in place once you've managed to move it. Just wondering if JZs have something similar or am I going to have to keep struggling?
